If I want a Chaz got better reminder, I reread the end of "Getaway". He's not "better" yet, there, but he's in progress. The phone call to Sol, breakfast with Marti and then the shotglass bit at the end just make me grin.

Or even earlier, when he's still in really bad shape, but real healing is happening, in the extra bit where he has a massage therapy session.

Or read those bits in chronological order and then "Opportunities".

To vouch for the colder climates, let me note that when you're naked and in front of a fan and still sweating, there's not much you can do. And most places frown on people naked in public. But in the winter, you can put on more layers and drink warm things, and nobody's going to be upset if you're wearing six layers of clothing in public.

Plus there's the beauty of the transitional seasons.

Wow, writing that Nikki and Chaz scene has to have been weird!

I didn't actually know that but I knew that, if that makes any sense. It's one of those things that just fits with everything else. Plus I've played so much CoC and read Lovecraft and an assortment of Lovecraftian influenced stuff, so my brain just has a tendency to go that way.

I think Hafs is much more a Shadowrun character than D&D, but Chaz could fit in multiple systems.

Now what alignment is everybody? Chaz seems to me to be more of a chaotic good that wants to be lawful good but life just doesn't work that way.

Depends on money and location. My location, that is, and where that will be next year is unknown.

Daphne's father is far from the only one who is going to tear up with sorrow as well as joy at every state that legalizes equality in marriage. And I'm also another one who keeps noticing every time I use the word "worth". 

ECR is just not adequate.

I do wonder how much those closest to the team know about the anomaly. Tricia obviously knows a lot, because she knows about Hafidha. Sounds like Gray knows quite a bit, too. I wonder how much Esther tells her husband. I expect Reyes doesn't tell much, though Cassie already knows quite a bit. Has Sol told his Menead? Nikki and Chaz hold back too much to tell anyone who doesn't already know, I think. But given how they're officially supposed to keep the truth from the public, are there rules about what they can tell family and spouses/partners?

I love Reyes mentally referencing Sandman. I love what happened between Chaz and Nikki and why and how it won't happen again, but that's the way it should be. I love Frost's moments of introspection and how she is mourning in her own way which nobody except possibly Reyes would understand.

And Sol of course is right. The story should go another way. Except it doesn't. Because things that are wrong and unfair happen, and the Anomaly is vicious.

On a side note: I knew I was going to cry the first time Chaz posted after Daphne's death. And of course I did.

I hate not being able to hug people when they're hurting. Rather it's because they don't like that kind of thing or they're too far away or both. Chaz being fictional does not enter the equation.
